DASP President’s Message – Jun. 2021
With the end of the school year upon us, I can’t help but reflect on all that has occurred during this past year. It’s been exhausting and challenging in so many ways. We’ve had to get use to facial masks, social distancing, and vaccinations. We have moved past elections and are hopefully now shifting our focus toward a better future. We have learned how to maneuver Zoom meetings and distance learning. Some things worked well, and others needed to be reconfigured. The word of the year was “pivot” and I know sometimes it made me dizzy.
At DASP we were able to provide 5 quality professional development opportunities from “Medical Errors” to “Cultivating Resilience”. These PDs were recorded and are now available for viewing on our website under “past events”. We provided opportunities for social gatherings and information exchanges through our Town Hall Meetings. It was wonderful to see our members enjoying the comradery.
As I leave the position of President for the unprecedented 2020-2021 year, I can’t help to feel a sense of pride on how we all came together to “Renew, Refresh and Revitalize” our professional community. My desire is that all of you would want to continue to Renew your commitment to our profession, Refresh your skills and Revitalize your connection to the community. It was a privilege to lead this organization during this time.
